Hockey NewsButs, who blogs over at FlyerFlies.com has recently posted an interview with Flyers forward Mike Richards.  I highly suggest that you take a listen to what Richards has to say!

Here is a little snippet of the interview:

FF – “The comparisons have begun with you and Flyer great Bobby Clarke. Obviously it is very young in your NHL career but it must make you quite proud that the Flyer faithful speak of you in the same breath as the greatest Flyer of all time. ”

MR – “Yeah, it’s nice and definitely a compliment. It’s nice to hear good things when you come into a new city, rather than people doubting you. So, it gives you that little extra confidence playing in the games.

In case yo have been living under a rock, The Atlanta Thrashers added veteran leadership, if not some added scoring depth, by claiming forward Mark Recchi off waivers Saturday.

This week, the NHL packaged a collection of goalie mask photos with blurbs behind a mask belonging to at least one goalie on every team.

The Ducks announced that defenseman Scott Niedermayer will return to the team for the remainder of the season.

“We are obviously very pleased that Scotty has chosen to come back and play,” said Executive Vice President/General Manager Brian Burke. “He earned the right to take time in making a decision, one that was clearly difficult for him.”

The Columbus Blue Jackets placed veteran David Vyborny on injured reserve on Sunday due to a hip injury.

Brad Boyes might have been traded away from his hometown team (Toronto), but things have worked out well since.

While most NHL-only fans won’t believe this, there is a significant portion of the hockey loving population that believes Robert Reichel is one of the greatest legends in hockey history. Beyond that they worship him as a decorated hockey warrior and leader. Don’t laugh.

Jagr’s actually headed for his lowest goal total ever, just 21, which makes you wonder if, at age 35, this is the beginning of a decline for the big Czech.

Wild Puck banter asks if anyone else becoming a big Aaron Voros fan?

This guy’s got some spunk, I’ll tell you that, and he can score. He’s exactly the type of player this team needs and here’s hoping some other guys follow his example.
