Second Carnival Of Hockey

Carnival of HockeyGreetings and welcome to the Second Carnival of Hockey here at NHL Digest.

We have received several excellent articles for this edition of the Carnival, so let’s get started shall we?

On Frozen blog gives us a gruesome peek at the 10 Worst Hockey Injuries of All-Time. Any true hockey fan still has the odd nightmare of the Clint Malarchuk incident.

On Frozen Blog also submitted their All-Time Five best players to line up at the start of an NHL Hockey game. There are some great argumenets for each of the line-ups they submitted.

Jerseys and Hockey Love makes an interesting comparison between hockey players and cats.

Legends of Hockey submits another excellent article on the French Connection’s Double Agent!

Sharpshooters gives us a taste of some amateur hockey with a post entitled “Not so ice to see you”.

The Dragon Slayer gives us a tragic story of a star hockey player who became a paralyzed.

Of course, I have to throw in a submission from NHL Digest on the New Reebok Hockey Stick: RBK 9KO

First Carnival Of Hockey

NHL Hockey CarnivalWelcome to the First Carnival of Hockey here at NHL Digest! We have received several excellent articles for this carnival and the participation from the hockey blogosphere is greatly appreciated.

Now, let’s get down to business.

Tapeleg presents Better Know A Rule: Interference posted at Jerseys and Hockey Love, saying, “I wish I could submit two…But I can wait.”

Jaci gives us Untold stories from the past week posted at WickedBruinsFan - The Wicked Blog. She recaps the week that was for the Bruins and also has a ton of photos from the Bruins first home game. Be sure to cruise around her blog, she is a great photographer!

Scruff Jefferies presents the title article to his blog Behind the Mask posted at…you guessed it Behind the Mask, This is a biography blog that follows a gigantic 6′4″ 16 year old goalie on his quest to make the NHL. *UPDATE: I guess he wants readers to log in to read the blog…not sure why.

Joe Pelletier presents Hockey’s Greatest Legends: Table Hockey Dreams posted at Hockey’s Greatest Legends. Joe has an awesome writing style, I could spend days reading through his blog.

David Oleksy presents The Sabres Television issue posted at Buffalo Sports.

Joe Kissell presents Underwater Hockey / A breathtakingly unusual sport posted at Interesting Thing of the Day, Kissell says “It may sound like a joke, but a type of hockey played on the bottom of a swimming pool is becoming a serious international sport.” We’ll see about that…only time will tell.

The Forechecker presents On the Forecheck: 21st Century Hockey Analysis Begins posted at On The Forecheck. Did you ever wonder which faceoff men generate the most shots in the offensive zone right off the draw? Forechecker gives us all the numbers we can handle…and then some!

The infamous Mike Chen submits yet another Shootout Rant. This guy always speaks his mind and I’ll tend to agree with at least half of everything he says!

Dan Bryndle submitted his entire blog for us to read…I hope you have plenty of time on your hands, there is a plethora of information posted there.

Of course the First Carnival of Hockey wouldn’t be complete without a submission from NHL Digest. There is still nothing more chilling than the Fight Video of Derek Boogaard crushing Todd Fedoruk’s face. The slow motion replay of the fight almost makes my stomach turn. I hope that Fedoruk’s facial reconstruction turns out alright and that he can come back to the game. I still can’t figure out why he called on Boogaard…
