CCM V10 Special Edition skatesI have written quite a bit about the skates that NHL Players wear, including the new Bauer Vapor XXXX, the Bauer One90 and the Reebok RBK 9K Pump Skates. However, I have left the CCM Vector skates until this new special edition was released. Ovechkin has used the CCM V10 and it is suspected that he will be using the special edition model. Ovechkin uses waxed yellow laces as shown in the stock photo.

These new V10 skates are attractive to the eye and CCM has been historically known to be more accomodating to those with narrow heels. If you are looking for a pair of V10 Skates, you should check out these EBay Auctions.

Here are the CCM V10 Vector Specifications:

  • F-I-T-SYSTEM – CCM F-I-T-SYSTEM combines heat and pressure for a “gapless” customized fit
  • Support – Lightweight pro carbon perforated anatomical ankle support delivers performance pro players demand
  • Ankle Pads – Pro comfort plus foams immediately form to the ankles eliminating break-in
  • Tongue – anatomical Foam-felt tongue features lightweight high-density molded foam “saddle” lace-bite guard that delivers comfort and forward flex

These skates are perhaps the best I have ever owned. I play in an A Level league with several ex-NHLers and former minor league players. Protection is important to me. I have taken a few blasts off of these without incident. Addtionally, they give me great acceleration and I find that I am more explosive from step one. As a long time Bauer customer until 2006, I found that CCM Vector 10s blow away anything I have worn from Bauer. They also are as comfortable as my old Daoust 501s for you long time players. That says it all.

[...] Ovechkin has added custom red TUUK Lightspeed 2 bladeholders to his CCM V10 Vector skates and finished them off with red skate laces to complete the look. [...]

OMG…Someone said Daoust. Man, I remember playing in Micron’s while wearing a Northland helmet in 1985 at the age of 10. BTW, I love these skates too!

id rather get the reg 10.0s, but these are nice too. consider the 7k pumps from rbk, not the 9k. you can buy 7ks for almost $80 cheaper and just spend $20 on a pair of stainless proformance lite runners to make them just like the 9ks. sure the protection is defferent, but its better to go with a cheaper yet just as good skate.

These skates look like something Batman would wear. Not for me.

Hey, I just finished with a pair of Vector 10.0s that I’ve had for a year and a half.
I’m deciding between the Stealth S15, Vector 10.0 SE, and RBK 9K
      any suggestions?

Ryan dont go with the RBK 9k if you have just used the Vector 10.0s. I have always used vector skates and when i switched to RBK 9k’s i got lace bite very bad in my ankles. All of my friends who switched to rbk’s had the same problem when coming from Vectors. Ultimately i went back to the vectors and they are still the best skates i have had. If you get the SE edition vectors i recommend white holders instead of the black ones, they look dirty

Great comfort. Not quite as good as my old Daoust 601 pumps, but very good just the same. Recommended.

vector 10.0 and rbk 9k pumps are same skate… same blade , same runners, same boot, but they put the pump in the rbks. the only difference u would have is a dif in feel with the pumps… no lace bite difference

WRONG! The Vector and RBK are much different fitting boots. The RBK is a deep fitting boot and has a wide heel. The Vector has an average heel and is a mid level volume boot. They do have the same Holder and pitch.

What is different between the regular blue/silver 10.0 and theese? Is it just the color?
