According to TSN, Chris Simon may be facing legal prosecution from the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office for his vicious slash on Ryan Hollweg.
Sources tell TSN that both Hollweg and Rangers head athletic trainer Jim Ramsay have been interviewed by the Nassau County District Attorney’s office in the quest to determine whether to pursue legal action against Simon.
A spokesman for the D.A’s office says, ”no decision” has been reached yet as the review hasn’t been completed.
”We’re hopeful we’ll have a decision by Monday.”
Do you think that legal action should be taken, or should what happens on the ice stay on the ice?
I think that, while the attack itself was intentional, the result was not as traumatic as the Bertuzzi incident. Therefore, I feel that the punishment should be limited to NHL sanctions.
