ESPN Shows Hockey Highlights!

I have to hand it to the folks over at ESPN, they actually scheduled 10 full minutes of hockey coverage yesterday.

The sad part is that the full 10 minutes was devoted to a Russian Super League bench clearing brawl that produced over 370 minutes in penalties. (See the video of the brawl below)

I am as big a fan of fighting in hockey as anyone, but because this is what is shown in the main stream media in the United States you can bet that we are going to hear the “boo birds” coming out and saying that hockey is such a violent sport…etc.

If this is what the largest television broadcaster of sporting news is feeding the public, then what should the NHL and hockey fans expect.  Plain and simple – this is sad.
