Flyers Release Free Agent Video

Of all of the wacky things that the Philadelphia Flyers could do in the off season, they decided to release a video of a hefty guy dancing in a playground.
I would have to presume that this individual is a “Dancing Fan” who is excited for free agency to begin…but I’m actually really confused after watching the video.

His name is Shawn. He has season tickets to the flyers games and dances for the crowd in the 3rd period. We LOVE him here cause he gets everyone going and excited at the games. Which was pretty hard to do with the season we had. But he still made it fun. The flyers have been showing him alot of appreciation for what he did this year by useing him as a marketing tool. From what i heard hes been offered free season tickets for next year.

that’s shawn hill dancing. he was basically was the entertainment at the home games this past season instead of the product on the ice.

A thought comes to mind here. People go to school to learn marketing. 3 words come to mind here. I would say Google the DEE DEE DEE song By Carlos Mencia. I beleive it sums up my thoughts! Just my half a cents worth.

It seems to me that it’s just a random promotional video for free agency that any team could use, but I’m not sure why the NHL or the Flyers would decide to do that. It’s kind of funny, but also seems pointless.

Shawn is a little like MO-Cheese from the Wings, he is a crowd favorite. It’s cool to see these kinds of everyday people used for promoting the game. I think it adds a little down homeyness to the game and lord knows we need all the fans we can get. PS it was pretty funny…
