Female Hockey I will never profess to be an expert in marketing and I certainly would never think that I knew much of anything about the fairer sex.

However, this lady hockey player seems to either be flexing her bicep or making a gesture that, in some cultures, might be viewed as profane.

This poster promoting the Northern California Women’s Hockey League was located on Flickr. I thought it was rather interesting, so I decided to see just what I could find out about this league.

About the NCWHL

This league was founded in 1993 and has progressed to now consist of four different category or skill levels and features statisticians, sanctioned officials and team jerseys and socks.

This league is a recreational, non-checking league that is organized by a group of volunteers. The games are played at several different rinks in the San Francisco Bay area.

Registration

It appears that the league is now accepting registrations for the 2007 Winter season. So, if you are a woman that happens to live in Northern California and want to give hockey a try, you can find out how to register here.

On another note, does anyone know what brand of hockey glove that the woman in the poster is wearing?
