Ilya Kovalchuk Fights Drew Stafford

From the files of things that happen few and far between, we saw Atlanta’s Ilya Kovalckuk drop the gloves in defense of a teammate. He’s no Derek Boogaard, but it’s nice to see Kovalchuk “jersey” Drew Stafford and win a fight.
Regardless of whether or not you agree with fighting in the National Hockey League, you can’t argue with the passion and intensity shown in this video.

I think that this fight puts Drew Stafford at 0-2 on the year when dropping the gloves.

I have much more respect for Kovalchuk after seeing this.Unlike Andy Sutton he actually went after a tough guy,ok tough compared to Kovalchuk, and didn’t back down
