My son has had these for about 18 months (his feet have finally slowed their growth) and has developed sensitivity on one foot in the general area of the Achilles tendon almost like a callus on the tendon. He has spoken to a few friends who have the XXXX and they have experienced the same issue. He was even told of a lad who had to have the "bump" surgically removed. Apparently the Dr. referred to the issue as "Bauer bites". Has anyone else herd of this?

Ohh my god, who gives a shizz if its not proper roman numerals. Doesnt an "X" stand for 10 any ways? Last time i checked bauer wasnt roman and a silly number on the boot doesnt determine if the skate is good or not. Whoever complained about this should grow a pair and go back in your hole. Stop wasting peoples time.

As far as style i think they look classy and sexy, about time with all the boring black and white. Whoever said the runner and steel broke or arent quality is full of it. You dont get better than the LS2. This boot will not hurt your foot if baked and broken proper, ohh yeah learn to get the proper size skate for your foot, ever think of that? Sound like a bunch of softball players. Ill check all you sissy skaters...

Great skates. Light but stiff. Very great feels like its part of your foot more of a wide boot but amazing I have them I love them.

For those complaining about the break in period, skates are suppose to hurt for the first few weeks. This is how you get the customized feel. Yes, the new heat molding process reduces the time, but if your feet aren't a little sore when wearing them for a bit, then you've been improperly fit.

Too many skate companies (RBK, Mission etc) are making skates so they feel really good when you first put them on, but these skates break down quickly and fit poorly after only a couple months. I had this happen to a pair of Mission's that felt awesome at first.

You want a skate that takes some time to break in, that way you know the skate will hold up longer. Any hot spots or pressure points can be resolved by punching. A decent HS should do this for you free of charge when buying new skates. I have a pair of 40's and love them, but they took a bit to break in. Whatever brand you decide to go with, make sure you are properly fit and that your feet get a little sore after about 10 mins of wear in the HS.

I am trying to decide betweent the XXXX and the new One 95. Is there anywhere I can read comments on them from others?

Also, last pair of XX I got 8EE, not sure if that was the salesmans idea or what I really needed. I wear size 9 shoes, and I know an 7.5 to 8 skate is probably right, but the EE I am not sure of. I have neve had a wide foot that I know of and I may want D.

Where is the closest place to buy either of these skates and try them on with someone who really knows skate fit? I would travel a ways to make sure they fit.

THanks
