Ottawa Finally Strikes!

Game number three was a doozy as the Senators notched a 5-3 win at Scotiabank place in Ottawa.
Ottawa finally looked like they actually wanted to win the cup. Anaheim, on the other hand, made some critical errors and were very sloppy with the puck for the first time in this playoff year.
The Getzlaf, Perry, Penner line finally played up to their potential and Penner finally had a good game on a personal note. Kunitz, back in the line-up after suffering from a broken hand, made a nice impact tonight as well.
Chris Pronger played a very uncharacteristic game. He seemed very unsure of himself and was even slower than usual on his skates tonight. He did make some excellent clearing plays while killing penalties though. I’ll be the first to post that his elbow on Dean McAmmond was intentional and very vicious. It will be interesting to see if the league takes any action after reviewing the hit.
Ottawa got some great energy play from Chris Neil, while Anton Volchenkov added a goal and an assist to secure the victory for Ottawa. Game four will be played Monday night and it should be an entertaining game!
Offside Notes:
ESPN had a story on the AHL Game Saturday night as the Hershey Bears beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-2…but nothing on the NHL game.
Hmmmm…I guess I shouldn’t be shocked since it was ESPN that reported most major publications in the United States are not staffing the Stanley Cup Final.
Joe Pelletier picked up a story of an Ottawa fan who attended the last Stanley Cup final in the city in 1927. He is 99 year-old Russell Williams!
