Alexander Ovechkin has garnered some additional attention at this year’s IIHF World Hockey Championships, and it isn’t because of his spectacular play!
Ovechkin has been known to be concerned with his style and frequently pushes the envelope with custom equipment. His duds for team Russia at the 2007 world Champioships are no exception.
Ovechkin has added custom red TUUK Lightspeed 2 bladeholders to his CCM V10 Vector skates and finished them off with red skate laces to complete the look.
He has also gone back to the blue tinted Oakley visor that he showed off at the 2007 All-Star Game. Alex is also sporting some custom red and blue CCM gloves and is using red tape on his shins, all in an effort to showcase his style and match the team Russia colors.
