Alexander Ovechkin's New Blue Oakley VisorFor those of you wondering about Alexander Ovechkin’s new visor, it is manufactured by Oakley and is coated with a blue iridium to give it the bluish mirrored finish.

The mirrored visor hides Ovechkin’s eyes, but more importantly…it’s stylish!

Isn’t a new idea, itech has almost the same thing without the blue and it’s a wave visor. If someone knows a release date please state it.

Ovechkin no longer uses this visor anymore because General Managers to a vote whether he should be allowed to use this visor and it was a 29 to 1. They think it gives him an advantage, but I think it doesn’t matter.

It is going to be illegal because you can’t see where he is looking, if the visor is clear you can read his eyes and see what he wants to do with the puck.

I rele dont kno y the gm’s voted to get rid of his visor….they need to face facts that he’s the most amazin player ever and he scored even more goals w/o the tinted visor!!!! I hav a visor thats mirrored and it dosent score the goals for me, i still hav to work hard…..and i score cause i train hard and kno wat to do with the puck. Whether the goal “sees” wat i want to do with the puck or not, that pucks still goin passed him!!!!! Plus, noone decided to make goalie pads smaller, isnt it the exact same thing. Anyways…GO OVIE GO!!!!!

    To Matt:

I don’t know you from a hole in the ground, so without being insulting I feel it’s appropriate to say that it is obvious you aren’t much of a thinker on the ice. I play high calibre hockey as a goalie and as a skater and in both instances I can assure you if you can see a persons eyes you have a better window into their head. If you can see whether or not he is eying you as the goalie (or rather the space around you) or the teammate on the other side for the pass, you’ve got a better shot at seeing the play unfold before it actually does. Some guys I will admit can look you off really well, which can be a weapon but for the most part people can’t think that quick.

By the way, writing so terribly just makes what you’re saying really unappetizing. Even if what you said had any substance to it, (which in my opinion it did not) it really damages the credibility of what you’re putting out there. I’m not saying you need to type with a dictionary open or anything, everyone makes mistakes but give it a little effort.
