Reebok made quite a splash this hockey season by providing the National Hockey League with the new RBK Edge Jerseys. However, they also released a line of equipment that is worthy of mention.
The RBK 9K O-Stick has been used most notably by Pavel Datsyuk, but several other NHL players have picked it up as well. They have also released the 9K Pump skates that are worn by stars such as Sidney Crosby, the popular RBK 9K Elbow Pads and now the RBK 9KN Gloves.
The RBK 9K gloves are lightweight and have a very natural ergonomic feel. This can be expected as RBK has adopted the Jofa ASD or Anatomic System Design.
The glove also features a 4-piece cuff construction that allows for a greater amount of mobility while still providing adiquate protection for the wrist.
I can appreciate the addition of Kevlar to reinforce the palm of the gloves to protect against pre-mature wear. However, it may come at a small sacrifice for feel of the stick.
The gloves are well ventilated to prevent excessive sweat and mositure retention, which is nice if you play a lot of games in warm arenas, or play a lot of hockey during the summer months.
The RBK 9K gloves retail for $174.99, but are on sale now at Hockey Giant for under $50.00!
