Sports Meets Social Networking

Hold on to your shorts for this one! I was just talking to Marc about voting for me to win the Edmonton Oilers Photo Contest and he asked me to check out his new project ilovetoplay.com.
These guys have set up the MySpace for athletes and it’s quite cool. It is a very novel idea to cater to the atheltic niche market and I think it has some potential. It’s new, so it will probably take a while to catch on…if you like the idea sign up and help them get the ball rolling.
Any athlete can set up an online profile or two…or three to network with other athletes, find games, find an open gym or some ice time almost anywhere. They even made a video to promote the site on Youtube…

Feed readers can check out the video here.

sportaholik.com is another site in this space - but local to Toronto. It’s very stripped down compared to ilovetoplay.com but serves the same function of bringing players together.
