Petr Sykora has been a great acquisition for the Edmonton Oilers this season, even if it was only to beat their provincial rivals in the famed Battle of Alberta.
Sykora scored both goals as the Oilers beat the Flames 2-1 in front of a sold out crowd at Rexall Place in Edmonton. This marks the second time this season that Sykora has led the Oilers to victory over the Flames with a 2 goal performance.
Here’s what Sykora himself had to say on the issue:
“Getting a couple points always feels good against that team,” said Sykora, who now has five points in three games this season against the Flames. “They were coming at us and on a six-game winning streak. It feels very good to break it and to extend our streak to four games.
“I hadn’t scored in six games, so I felt I was kind of due to get one in and I was glad it was in this game.”
