Thanks for the correction.  
I think that Linden has always been respected for his actions both on and off the ice.  Somewhat akin to a Steve Yzerman.
He always seemed to have the ability to elevate his game in the clutch.

Trevor was captain of the Canucks from 91 - 97. in 97  he volunteered it over to newly acquired Mark Messier. Then Mike Keenen traded Linden to the Islanders (where he also became Captain) much to the dismay of vancouver fans. then he was traded to  the Canadiens, then the capitols and then back to the Canucks, who now had Naslund as Captain so Linden was an alternate. anyway, yeah, real stand-up guy, much admired as a true sportsman by both peers and fans. :)</description>
