Warrior Kronik Hockey StickIn 2007 Warrior has released a new stick called the Warrior Kronik. We have talked a lot about the Reebok 9K0 or what is being referred to as the ‘O’ Stick 9K by Reebok, and even some recent hype about the new Easton S17 stick, but Warrior has its own unique design.

The Warrior Kronik is Ilya Kovalchuk’s stick and features a unique blade that has ridges running from the heel of the blade to the toe.
Here are the specifications for the 2007 Warrior Kronic:

  • Spyne blade technology
  • Uber-low kickpoint
  • 420 Grams
  • Nipple Grip Coating
  • True-q molding technology
  • Seamless energy transfer for silky smooth passing and shooting
  • Retail Price is about $219.99 (US)

Is the Kronik avaliable yet? I can only find the mac daddy and want to get the Kronik stick.

  4. zack on Wed, 18th Apr 2007 8:56 pm

yes is out. does the blade effect back handed shots because of the “spyne”

  5. oliver on Sat, 5th May 2007 2:39 pm

do you tape the kronik?and does it effect back hand shots

  6. hunter on Mon, 14th May 2007 4:37 pm

yes you tape it like any other stick and no it doesn’t affect backhand shots… you hardly notice the ridges except for when flexing the stick… i have had this stick for about 1.5 months and i absolutely love it

  7. Paul on Thu, 17th May 2007 11:05 pm

where can i get the exact Kovalchuk stick or atleast see what his curve is like?

  8. tommy on Mon, 15th Oct 2007 5:37 pm

this stick is out, i might get it, but i dont really like the spyne thing. rather get a s17

  9. danny on Sun, 21st Oct 2007 11:24 am

The only roblem with the warrior sticks is that they have a tendency to break really easily. I have a friends who went 6 of them in just under a year and this was only at Bantam A(15-13 years old) level.

  10. Eric on Mon, 12th Nov 2007 1:50 pm

I’ve had 3 Kroniks now and love them…Killer shot and control BUT I just broke my third one this weekend and not one has lasted more than 3 months now…Great stick for those 3 months but they’re so expensive I’m not sure if I’m getting another one..

  11. Matt on Mon, 12th Nov 2007 9:48 pm

Is the stick really worth it? Is the spyne technology just a bunch of bullshit?

  12. Tyler on Sun, 18th Nov 2007 9:31 am

    Matt,
I’m not sure that the Spyne technology is any better or worse, but I’d certainly think that it would be just as beneficial as the holes in the RBK ‘O’ Stick.

  13. zack on Mon, 10th Dec 2007 8:51 pm

I don’t know if its worth it being the most expensive stick with just spyne technology, nothing different than any of the other terrible warrior shafts

  14. Kronick Kid on Wed, 19th Dec 2007 1:00 pm

BEST STICK EVER MADE I LOVE IT IT FEELS SO GOOD WHEN I PLAY WITH IT I FEEL LIKE A PRO

  15. kronick lover on Wed, 19th Dec 2007 1:06 pm

the spyne technogilgy is the when you shot the blade flexs for a better and more accurate shot

  16. DMan on Mon, 24th Dec 2007 2:00 am

I don’t know if I’d like a Kovalchuk curve. Doesn’t he use an illegal curve quite a bit?

The Weight curve is great. It’s moderate, so the puck doesn’t veer off and roll away from you. I used a Dolomite before I got the Kronik, and the Kronik is WICKED. I’ve used a Synergy Elite, a CNT Stealth, an S17 Stealth, an RBK 7K Sickick, and a CCM 10.0 Vector, and the Kronik beat them all. I’ve heard that Warrior sticks break easily, but I haven’t had that problem. My Dolomite broke after six months…and that was because I slammed it on the ice. Kronik rules.

  17. Andrew on Mon, 21st Jan 2008 8:59 pm

does anybody find it funny that a stick named “the kronik” would weigh 420 grams?

  18. dps on Mon, 28th Jan 2008 2:19 pm

My son is 11 received this stick for christmas. used it in (2) games and 6 practices. In 14 daqys an 11 year ols weighing 63lbs. Managed to snap this stick in half like butter. His shot with the DRAPER curve improved tremendously. But without sponsorship or million dollar contract it’s hard to plunk down 200.00 every 2 weeks. I sure hope theyu’ll warranty this stick.

  19. abc on Tue, 29th Jan 2008 8:50 pm

the S17 is a way better stick the kronik stick sucks

  20. matt on Sun, 10th Feb 2008 6:32 pm

  21. Jack on Sun, 10th Feb 2008 6:40 pm

the easton stealth S17 is a way better stick

  22. matt s on Tue, 12th Feb 2008 4:07 pm

I just bought a mac daddy 85 flex federov curve 2 weeks ago and my shot was the best it’s ever been. All my shots got that much better. My slap shot was insane, wickedly fast snap and wrist shots and I could feel the puck on my stick without ever having to look down. best stick ive ever used and I just came from a stealth cnt. mind you the heatley curve was a bit much for me, but nonetheless the mac daddy just felt sooo good. Too bad it snapped like a twig when I blasted a slap shot in my 4′th game using it. Damn it. want the same stick but not if its gonna keep breaking. maybe the dolomites stronger???

  23. chris on Sun, 17th Feb 2008 5:55 pm

the dolomite is really good! i just snapped mine the other day but it lasted for 6 months. i recommend it to anyone. Its the best stick i have ever had!

  24. Will on Sat, 1st Mar 2008 6:41 pm

my dolomite snapped after 4 months. but i got it SRS repair and its just like new. So if you like warrior but you break them just look into repairing it $20-$30, can not beat that.

  25. Datsyuk13 on Sun, 2nd Mar 2008 11:24 am

I don’t care that i dont have one it would be cool to have. My friend has a Reebok 9KO stick and he wants to have The Warrior MacDaddy for his main stick and his Rrebbok for backup he would of been spoiled! I have a Reebok 9KO stick!

  26. matt on Mon, 3rd Mar 2008 5:41 pm

i had a kronik for 3 days.it snapped SO EASY.i got a vapor xxxx and let me tell you….WAY BETTER THAN THE KRONIK!GO NIKE BAUER!

  30. Brandon on Tue, 1st Apr 2008 2:37 pm

is it possible to buy a stick with an actual kovalchuk curve like he uses??

  31. Toolie 23 on Fri, 11th Apr 2008 6:34 pm

    i have the s17.
your shot gets so much harder but make sure you get a curve you like obv bc i got the sakic and i hate his open curve and its so tapered at the bottom you cant really put a new blade in.
im looking at the kronik at the moment. so is it really nice?

  32. Dane on Sat, 19th Apr 2008 1:17 pm

if I cut it down about 7 in., will anything change a lot?

  33. DMan on Sun, 25th May 2008 6:20 pm

Kovalchuk has his own curve custom-made, as do all NHLers. You’d have to see his curve on TV or something, and then use a heat gun to curve it the same way.

Just about every stick you see in the store has a player name assigned to it; the actual players don’t use those curves. For instance, the Sakic curve on Easton sticks is not the curve that Joe Sakic actually uses. Same with Sidney Crosby: RBK doesn’t sell a stick that has his straight blade. They just stamp his name on their sticks. It’s something to keep in mind when shopping: the curve you see is never what the pros use. They’re just selling points.

  34. andrew on Sun, 25th May 2008 9:45 pm

hey peeple i was just wondering what stick i should get i am a defenceman with a pretty hard shot i want something light but wont snap easily i want the kronik but i hear they snap really easy….
    i just want suggestions!! please!!

  35. john on Wed, 4th Jun 2008 5:51 pm

andrew…i would try the easton s17. They are really light and they are real tough. they’re great

  36. Evan on Thu, 5th Jun 2008 3:47 pm

i just bought the kronik after using xxxx over and over and over. they are trash and break to easily.my last on e broke in my second game. im hoping this kronik is stronger

  37. Steve on Fri, 11th Jul 2008 2:23 pm

Wake up people, sticks break, what matters is performance, and the bottem line is warrior sitcks perform tremendously! I have had Royal’s, Dolomite’s, Mac Daddy’s and just got a KroniK, all are and have been awesome, none have broke from anything other than blocking a shot on the shaft, or from ramming the boards or something, the dolomite is one of the toughest sticks on the market, thats why so many NHL’rs use them, Warrior is growing fast and will keep growing, the KroniK is just Warrior trying to compete with RBK’s 9K, the whole blade flex thing, they both work the same excpet warrior/innovative has been making sticks longer. In the end try the Worrior’s out, there great sticks!

  38. Tom on Fri, 1st Aug 2008 8:21 am

Wow, so the blade flexes just like wood blades do…adding more spin to the shot. I guess the more things change the more they stay the same. I’ll stick with a shaft and wooden blades, and save the big money for skates.

For the guy who was looking, Kovalchuk’s pro stock curve is really close to their “public” Smyth curve, same lie and everything, thats as close as you’ll get until prostocks are around in december. It’ll save you the heating and stuff and the difference in curve is minimal.

  39. tyler on Sun, 7th Sep 2008 6:50 pm

loook the whole point of the spyne is so it stops the blade from bending the face of it open when u shoot a hard shot. it doesnt flex. just the spyne makes the blade harder t move when taking a big shot.

  40. tyler on Sun, 7th Sep 2008 6:51 pm

im looking forward to the dolomite spyne personally thats coming out eventually

  41. Jake on Sun, 26th Oct 2008 12:26 pm

I recently bought the Kronik and i was amazed at how much harder i could shoot the puck. I highly reccomend this stick and would never go back to use any other stick

  42. nik on Mon, 3rd Nov 2008 7:41 pm

S17′s suck. I hate mine. I’m getting a dolomite spyne. when they come out. they are coming out in november

  43. Donkeyboy on Sun, 16th Nov 2008 8:22 pm

I can’t wait for the sherwood spyne to come out. I hear its coming out in 2019

  44. kookoo on Wed, 26th Nov 2008 5:09 pm

I am a goalie but my teammates usually recomend the shogun because It has a way better shaft than the dolomite but it is just as accurate and all. I would like to see the spyne technology on a shogun. that would be kik ass!

  45. jarrett on Wed, 17th Dec 2008 4:39 pm

i kinda want one they seem so sweet my captin just got one and he loves it but what stick is better a vopr xxxx costomized or a kronik because i have the costomized i am just wondering if i should get a kronik

  46. mike on Mon, 29th Dec 2008 4:47 pm

    Jarett,
I wouldsay the kronik is better. It adds about 10 mph to your shots, it has a good feel to it also.

  47. Jonathan on Sun, 4th Jan 2009 5:49 am

i would like a kovalchuk curve aswell, i had a vapor xxx-lite with a huge toe curve… it was a game used kovalchuk stick, i sold it… i regret it so much!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  48. Shelby on Sat, 10th Jan 2009 3:37 pm

man, this stick is very overrated. I was amped to get it, and it didnt live up to any hype. i’d heard many comments like the one im writing right now and didnt believe it.but its true

this stick is the same, if not a bit worse than the dolomite(which by the way is a sick stick), and the dolomite is considerably cheaper. the kronik is 25 grams lighter than the doli, but it doesnt make a difference considering the stick is bottom heavy. it even felt the same as the shogun i had before it. and the spyne blade is useless, mine started cracking in a week.I later snapped it, and picked up a ccm vector U+ which is an awsome stick. the lesson here is, dont waste your money on the kronik. it looks beauty, but its nothing special

  49. AlcoholicA on Wed, 14th Jan 2009 5:24 pm

I got this stick on black friday for rather cheap, $128, this stick is pretty sick, havnt broken it yet, improved my shot pretty wicked. Everytime i pick up another stick, they feel way 2 heavy, must b 2 attached 2 this stick. Ima b pretty pissd when this stick breaks, ima prob swap 2 a dolomite 2 piece’r if i cant fix it. I recommend this stick in my personal experience

  50. Hayden on Sat, 17th Jan 2009 9:31 pm

I have the Kronik intermediate Nipple Grip w/ Draper curve. I dont really know how much the “Spyne” helps but its definitly a great stick. This is my third Warrior. I had the Starskie, then the Dolomite, and now this. The Starskie was the best but this is awesome. If your looking for a cheap Warrior, google Philbricks Hockey. I didnt buy one yet, but Dolomites are $99 and Mac Daddys are $119.

  51. Tyrrell on Tue, 3rd Feb 2009 4:58 pm

I’ve had 2 of these now, both snapped within 6 months of using for about 2 hours a week. First snap was along the Spyne part of the blade, second was just above. Very good stick while it lasts, shame they’re not cheap in the UK, paid about £180 each. Definitely worth a try if you can afford it though

  52. Troy on Sat, 7th Feb 2009 8:33 pm

Yeah I had the Kronik for about 4 months and it already broke slightly above the blade. Good stick, until it breaks.

  53. orrjr on Sat, 21st Feb 2009 4:16 pm

I just bought the Kronik because I finally busted my Starskie. Hate the Kronik, the blade on the puck feels like cement. A very different feel than the Starskie. If only I could buy these sticks again. Kronik over priced and over marketed. Warrior sticks are great, but not this one!

  54. miffed on Thu, 19th Mar 2009 11:18 am

My son who is 13 yrs old and 100 lbs has a warrioor stick (draper curve) and it’s a piece of junk !!!!!.It’s his second one!!!it was a replacement and now where we bought it they WON’T do a thing.Piece of JJJUUUNNKK…that’s what they are!!!

  55. Slava on Sat, 28th Mar 2009 8:16 pm

Kronik? 420 grams? Coincidence? I don’t think so. It’s a stick for stoners.

  56. RW21 on Wed, 1st Apr 2009 6:47 pm

how much does the intermediate model of kronik weigh?

  57. Derek on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 10:31 am

I had the dolomite and just like dps i snapped it in half on the 13th day just like butter. i know recieved this spyne technology as a replacement for the old blue and black dolomite. i have the orange, white, and black one. i am kinda thinkin it might break and dont want it too becuz my dad will flip out on me. is this stick really that bad? does it really have a tendancy to break?

  58. Derek on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 10:38 am

oh and steve… wake up people? sticks break? dude i had a mission hex-1 for 3 AND A HALF YEARS!!!!!!!! and as soon as i go to warrior it breaks in 13 days. i can c a little bit of lack of quality. and i dont know about the rest of u. . . . but i say i would rather have QUALITY and not QUANTITY when getting sticks

  59. Alex Fratelli on Sun, 5th Apr 2009 3:18 pm

    Hey andrew,

Being a defenceman myself I use the Kronik 100 flex with Jovanovski blade and clear grip. I’m 6,3 200 lbs and mostly uses wrist shots and hard passes..My teammate is about 250lbs and uses a hard slap shot, he used the same stick as mine but he broke it quite often, now he’s using the Warrior Johnson 85 flex with the Draper blade and nipple grip and didn’t break one so far in 3-4 moths plus he’s shot really improved. I really like my kronik but I guess it’s a question of how you like to play in general. My teammate is a heavy guy and likes to shoot a lot, he just found the johnson fitted him better and it’s not really expensive…you might want to try this one instead.

  60. Chris on Fri, 10th Apr 2009 11:23 am

the new kronik is even more innovative with spyne tech in the shaft. can;t wait to try it out

the shot accurace is good 2. the blu one is best

  62. Spence on Tue, 12th May 2009 10:24 pm

What does this stick actually cost and is it worth it? also if not what stick should i get

  63. Steve on Fri, 5th Jun 2009 9:20 am

People, wake up! The Spyne technology is retarded thats why pro’s don’t use them, Holmstrom for example has a Kronik but with a standard warrior blade, the spyne tech is for duffer’s, it sounds cool so kids will buy want them. You want Warrior for sure, cause Warrior sticks are awesome, but the only stick to buy is a Mac Daddy or maybe a Dolomite, avoid the silly spyne tech crap though, I have one and it lasted only a short time and broke right along this so called spyne. The Mac Daddy is a true one piece construction, with the lowest possible kick point (Yes lower then the Kronik), this means harder more accurate shooting everytime. There is NO stick on the market made by any company that has a stick out there right now with a lower kick point than the Mac Daddy, there absoulute top of the line, a lot of NHLer’s have 2007 Mac Daddy’d painted like this years Dolomite’s, and Kornik’s.
