Yutaka Fukufuji Makes NHL History!

Yutaka Fukufuji, a Japanese goaltender for the Los Angeles Kings made history today as he became the first Japanese born hockey player to play in the National Hockey League. Fukufuji replaced Barry Brust, who had surrendered 5 goals in the first two periods of the Kings game versus the St. Louis Blues.
UPDATE:
Fukufuji made the first start of his NHL Career on Tuesday January 16, 2007 versus the Atlanta Thrashers.
He was pulled early in the second period after allowing 3 goals.
Fukufuji, 24, was summoned by the Kings on Friday after Mathieu Garon was placed on injured reserve with a finger injury. Fukufuji first made news when he became the first Japanese native to dress for an NHL game on December 16, 2006 versus the Dallas Stars.
Fukufuji allowed his first goal 7:32 into the third period on onlt the second shot he faced. Dennis Wideman put the puck past Fukufuji on the power play to give the Blues a 6-4 lead.
Fukufuji has been magnificent in the minors leagues boasting a 2-0-0 with a 1.30 goals-against average in three games at Manchester of the American Hockey League and 3-3-0 with Reading of the East Coast Hockey League.
